Jinsha (literally Golden Sands) is an archaeological site located in Chengdu. This livery is the result of a design competition held by the airline and the museum of the Jinsha site in 2021. The winning design merges graphic elements of ancient China (Jinsha was the capital of the
Shu state) and present day Chengdu. Deer antlers were found on the Jinsha site and were used in the Shu people's sacrificial ceremonies, hence the deers in the scheme.
Chengdu was known before as the "Hibiscus City" (Rongcheng, 蓉城), from the hibiscus which King Mengchang of the Later Shu ordered planted upon the city wall during the 10th century. The
Golden Sun Bird is an artefact unearthed in Jinsha in 2001, now a symbol of Chengdu and the logo of the airline.
In early 2024 the aircraft was leased to Vietjet with a different scheme for the occasion.
